The Single-Stream Dilemma
Ever wonder why most city recycling bins say "NO GLASS"?
When mixed with cardboard and paper in a single curbside bin, glass inevitably shatters. Tiny glass shards embed into paper fibers, rendering entire truckloads un-recyclable. Shards also chew through expensive sorting conveyor belts and injure MRF workers.
The only effective way to recycle glass curbside is in a dedicated, glass-only container. Ripple partners with municipalities and regional haulers who collect glass separately and bring it directly to our processing facility.

How to Recycle with Ripple in Roeland Park
Follow these simple steps for smooth monthly curbside pickup:
Collect Glass in Tote
Collect clean glass containers in the purple tote provided by Ripple Glass. Metal caps and labels can stay on!
Set at Curb by 7 AM
Place your tote at the curb on your first trash day of the month by 7am. Keep it at least 6 feet from trash & recycling.
Ripple Picks Up
Ripple Glass empties the glass and leaves your purple tote in place at your curb ready for the next round.
Fill & Repeat
Bring the empty tote back to your garage or porch, fill it up, and repeat the next month!

What Can Be Recycled
All food and beverage glass containers are accepted—wine, beer, liquor, soda bottles, and food jars. Metal lids, caps, and paper labels are fine!
